Custom photo ID cards, printed on real PVC

A photo ID card is only useful if the face on it is easy to recognize. Same Day ID prints custom photo ID cards on CR80 PVC, the same 3.375 x 2.125 inch size as a credit card, so they fit standard badge holders, clips, reels and wallets. You send the design with the photo already placed, or you build it in our free Design Studio, and we print it in full color.

Businesses use photo cards for employee badges, contractors and volunteers. Schools and daycares use them for students, staff and authorized pick-up adults. Gyms, clubs and associations use them as member cards. Event teams use them for crew and vendor credentials. Whatever the use, the card is the same durable PVC, and every order is printed to the artwork you approve.

How to order a photo ID card

• Prepare your design. Place the photo, name, title, logo and any ID number in your layout. Upload front (and optional back) designs as JPG, PNG or PDF on the order page. No account is needed to check out.
• Or design it online. Create a free account and use the Design Studio to add text, a photo and a background color, then save it as a template you can reuse for the next hire or member.
• Different photo on every card? Your cards don't all need the same design. Upload every design on the order page, or email them to Help@SameDayID.com after you order.
• Pick options and shipping. Add back printing, holograms or a slot punch, choose a shipping speed, and pay securely at checkout.

Getting the photo right

We print exactly what you send unless you add a Digital Proof, so a few minutes of checking before you upload pays off. These practical guidelines help photos print clearly on a small card:

• Use a recent, front-facing photo with even lighting and a plain background so the face reads clearly at badge size.
• Crop to the head and shoulders. On a card this size, a full-body photo makes the face too small to recognize.
• Start from the largest original you have. A photo copied out of a chat app or a website is often too small and prints soft.
• Keep names and ID numbers away from the very edge of the card so nothing important sits where the card is trimmed or punched.
• If you plan to add a slot punch, leave space at the top (horizontal cards) so the punch does not cut through the photo or the name.
• Check spelling of names and titles one last time. The ID Name you enter at checkout labels your order, but the card itself prints from your artwork.

Pricing is the same per card whether you order one replacement badge or a full roster under 20 cards. Here is what each option costs today:

Printing and shipping times

Order by 1 PM Eastern on a business day and your photo ID cards are printed and dispatched the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff go out the next business morning. We do not ship on Saturdays, Sundays or federal holidays. Choose the shipping speed that fits your deadline at checkout:

Accessories for photo badges

Most photo IDs are worn, not carried. On the order page you can add a badge ID clip, a plastic badge holder, a blue breakaway lanyard, badge reels in blue, black, pink or metal, and a badge reel clip, with accessories starting at $1.00. Add the $1.00 slot punch to any card you plan to hang from a clip or lanyard.

Your photos and data

Uploaded design files, photos and employee data are stored on secure, encrypted servers to fulfill your order. Print files are purged after a short processing window, and custom design data is not sold. Learn more in our privacy policy.

What these cards are, and are not

Our photo cards are custom organization IDs: employee, student, visitor, member and event badges. They are not government-issued identification, and we reserve the right to refuse designs that imitate official documents such as driver licenses, passports or law-enforcement credentials.
